Born and raised in Bern Switzerland (1987) with a Spanish heritage, Javier Merelas is a multicultural and versatile artist who’s interdisciplinarity approach lies at the center of his artistic creations. Coming from a business and design background, he understands how to merge opposite poles and divergent procedures. This layered background paved the way to his own distinctive style and continuously nourishes the search for discovering and applying new techniques. His paintings show a permanent conflict between the balance within figuration and abstraction accompanied by a strong line and emotional brush stroke.
